Future-oriented Efforts

From global environmental concerns to daily living. Through pioneering efforts we are creating new business chances for our customers
2006

Development, manufacture and selling of high performance cosmetics

Tomen plans to develop, manufacture and sell a range of "anti-aging" and "whitening" high-performance, high-effect cosmetics that use only natural products taken mainly from plants that are safe to use and gentle to the skin.

2005

Development of non-wooden green products

From a perspective of preventing global warming, in order to protect forests Tomen engages in development, import and market expansion of products including bagasse (a pulp taken from the fibrous remains of the sugar cane plant after sugar has been removed) and kenaf (taken from the pulped stems of a plant that is part of the hibiscus family).

2002

Opening of market for primary and secondary cell battery additives (global standard)

Supply to domestic and overseas battery manufacturers beginning with materials for electrodes on primary and secondary cell batteries and high performance conducting fluid. These products have since successfully become a global standard. Their use is currently expanding to include everyday use and other uses such as in hybrid cars.

2000

Development of "food safety" materials

Given rising concerns about food safety in the market place, emphasis is placed on the "Feed to Fork" concept (from animal feed to the table) towards the manufacture of safe food ingredients usable for food products and also for animal feed. Tomen Chemical engages in joint research with a manufacturing company for "sugar cane extract" that has a positive affect on the function of the immune system. A market for the product is created at home and abroad and sales are ongoing, with the product being used to maintain the health of livestock, and also as a flavor enhancer for food products.

1998

Supply of safe natural food colorings

By directly providing technological guidance to overseas manufacturers, Tomen Chemical establishes a structure for the stable supply of safer natural food colorings in appetizing and more appealing colors.

1984

Domestic production of esterpolyol

Tomen Chemical plans the domestic production of esterpolyol, successfully bringing products using esterpolyol (rigid urethane materials) to market. These products, previously only been available by import, could be used in heat insulators and other products.
